First, I'd look at bolting a modern burner onto it. Or take the motor to an electric motor shop and see if they can redo it. With steam, a gentle boiling is best for dry steam and long cycles help too. I'd try a .75, you may need to try a couple of patterns to match the air flow. I worked on one yrs ago that the air tube was burned through. You might want to insulate yours.
