Do you have regular iron steam piping to this room and then the 1" copper, or is other piping copper. How long is baseboard? What is pich. 1" isn't very big for steam duty, also the type of valve used may be suspect in trapping water. A FULL PORT ball valve or such would be best. Again as HK and I said make sure every spot is downhill to not even have a little water stop.
