i have a 1980 gas fired sears brand steam boiler it recently started to lose water every single day .i checked everything ,return lines,air vents smoke through the flue,and even filled the boiler to top of header and let it sit ,still not one drop of water .i then called a plumber and he checked everything i checked even he is not sure what the problem is but recommended a water feeder .is it normal for this boiler to use this much water.it loses about1/4 inch on the glass tube after every cycle.any help is greatly appreciated
