I have a gas boiler that has 2 honeywell zone valves.
The boiler has a B&G pump assembly on it.
When the zone valves shut off, you immediately
hear a short squell sound coming from the
pump area of the boiler. Last fall I replaced the
assembly that contains the bearing and shafts
that connect to the pump motor. Not sure of the
correct part name.
I know it is not a bearing problem that causes the
noise.
Noticed the noise only after changing to honeywell
2- way zone valves. Not a hammer sound, but rather
a short squeel that last only 2 seconds after the zone
immediatey shuts off the B & G circulating pump.
Sounds like it is coming from the impeller area of the pump.
Any ideas? Must have something to do with the pump stoppping
quickly before the ball in the valve is closed.
Please e-mail me with your thoughts. Thanks!!
