As one of the boiler inspectors for nyc I can say that right now there is no offical color code for boiler rooms in nyc. OSHA has a safety color code and there is a color code for fire standpipe systems by FDNY. There is a color code standard that was made up by the national association of power engineers a few years ago. Check with them at www.powerengineers.com.
