: We are a manufacturer of textile process equipment that uses a fair amount of steam. We are looking for realistic steam cost estimates to use in our operating cost calculations. We have heard numbers ranging from $5.00 to $ 8.50 per thousand pounds of steam and wonder what is a realistic number for industrial installations in the textile industry. We do understand that this number is very dependant on the size of the boiler installation, and the type of fuel being burned.
: Any help would be appreciated.Approx.

$8.00/1000# in Southern California, based on $0.65/Therm (Therm = 100,000 BTU's). If you like, please advice your mailing address, I will send some info on steam & condensate flow meters.
