1. Ensure that you blowing pressure is not too high.
2. Ensure that the sootblowing steam is free from condensate. This usually shows up as a higher erosion rate on the first few tubes from the wall.
3. Try operating with a less frequent blowing and note the boiler performance. If you are right and it is necessary than you should be able to translate this decrease in perfomance to lost MWatts and therefore lost money. Once they see the cost of decreased boiler performance greatly exceeds the maintenance cost they should stay quiet. That is unless you do not note a significant decease in performance and they are right.
