Listen to B.T. Bill's answer, he is correct. The "test" button allows you to perform your daily blows without shutting down your burner...make sure to hold it several seconds after blow valves are shut so that water levels return to normal after blow is complete. Few HSB inspectors really know anything anymore..That's why I quit them-well one reason why.
