I had a little experiance with the set up of Miura boilers. When i was working in the Northern Ontario Canada, we had 3 CB 300 hp firetube boilers, we were going to purchase low fire turndown burners for these units when Miura was suggested, Well i left after they were installed but the feedback from old co-workers there is that these units are constantly cycling on and off, Their fuel
Fuel costs are a little higher now because of the cycling. They are throwing the idea around of re-installing the CB's next year. They pulled two boilers out and had left the one in service with the 2 Miura boilers and they are running this unit pretty well all the time. Thye do agree that the Miura definately get up to full steam in about 5 minutes from cold though and maybe if this plant didn't have a steady steam demand such as a plant that can turn down low at night, it might of been feasable
