: Help!? On our 200hp(running at 110psi) Saskatoon firetube boiler we have developed a leak(vapor and droplets) on the top plug of cross connection above the low water cut-off, we replaced it and it still leaks. Should we teflon tape and dope the 1-inch fittings(schedule 80) or just dope. A lot of discussion but no-one seems to care and that unit will get by. (I hope it doesn't go on my shift). Thank you.

If the threads are worn or pulled you might need to replace the cross not just the plug. I usally
use tape and dope on steam lines. try the blue anti vib dope works good
