Silica is the first compound to 'break out' of your demin system, even before you will get a rise in conductivity. So, if you are still getting a reduction in dissolved solids (your conductivity is low) and you are getting silica, it just means you should regenerate sooner. Sometimes silica values change in the incoming water so that the regeneration values must be changed as well.
