Boiler:VU-40,water tubes.1300 psi operating pressure,900*f steam temperature,250000 pph of steam.Mitsubishi turbine 34.6mw.
Fuel:Bark and wood.
Three month ago we blew a boiler bank tube due to external erosion causes by a lot of sand in the bark and to much of combustion gazes speed. It was really scary, the 11000 gallons dea went empty in a second by trying to keep the drum level....so it's a lot of water flashing in steam in a short period of time.
Since this accident, all the helper-operators rufuse to take the stoker grate measurments and the plant director tell them to do the work....From what i saw the day it appends...a lot of steam came off the front of the boiler with an huge strength...can someone tell me if the plant director is correct to say it's safe or am i just a chicken? If you need more infos about the boiler to give me a good answer i will give you more. Thanks a lot!
