Most people that I know that are either operators or work in the boiler field have either been in the Navy or have worked in a shipyard of some sort.I beleive that the Navy is slowly fasing out boiler in the fleet with the exception of small water heating boilers.The Navy school was real good and goes through everything.If they still have the Boiler Techn. rate maybe you can go in the reserves to get the training and not serve actual active duty except for training.
