: We are being solicited by a company trying to get us to test an Emulsion(water) process. They showed us test results from an application of the process on a firetube boiler, claiming reduction in fuel ratio to steam production, reduced NOX, and less soot.
: Does anyone have experience with or know of any use of this process on high pressure boilers burning number 6 oil? We operate at 450psig and 650F superheat, We pre-heat our number 6 oil to 225F at the burner. It seems to me that emulsion would increase stack losses do to production of superheated water vapor.

I've used emulsified #6 oil on firetube boilers producing saturated steam and it works great. No experience on superheated steam applications.
