Save money, find the tube that is leaking your self.Clearly mark the tube, once you marked, run water thur it to the otherside, then mark that side, this is a fool proof way of Identifying both ends of the tube, its to easy to guess and guess wrong. This will save you money,if the repair co has to find it,they get paid by the hour and will be in no hurry. If this tube is a waterwall tube and not exposed to the furnace, plug it on both ends and cut a hole it,so any moisture won't build up pressure.Find out tube size, this will be the plug size you'll need, your P-3 Data sheet will tell what mat'l the plug needs to be,then order from Erie power tech Phil Mehann (814) 464-1202.You can plug up to 10% of your tubes, but if you have that many failures, something bad is going on,and you need to check it out.By plugging the tube and not having any welding done ,you will not need a boiler inspector, the plugs are just pounded in real good.I would estimate $100 per plug.and throw in $ 800 labor so for $1,000 you should be back in buis
