: : We recently had a new gas-fired Peerless 62 (steam) boiler installed in our building. There is a Honeywell L404C Hi-limit Manual Reset pressuretrol on the right, a Pressure Gauge in the middle and a "Cut-in" control on the left.
: : I have the cut-in set at 0.5 psi and the Hi-limit at 1.5 psi.
: : My questions are should there be a seperate "Main" pressuretrol, or is the L404C it? Also, I've read that the L404C operates between 2 and 15 psi: Will it work set at 1.5, or even 1.0?
: : I don't see anything that says "Differential" anywhere.
: : Thanks for any information on these settings as I've read many times in your forums that a psi over 1 is probably not neccessary.

:
: Your "Main" control is your operating control(cut-in/cut-out). Your Hi-Limit is your last control before the safety valve pops open.
: The differential will be on the operating control and not the hi-limit. The hi-limit will naturally have to be set at a higher setting than your operating control, hence the 2-15 setting option.

: Your post does seem confusing though, are you saying that the hi-limit cuts-out the boiler and you have to reset every cycle manually?
: Also what type is your cut-in control?

: Hi-limits have to be manual reset, so this setup doesn't make sense.
