: : We've taken down our steam system in one area and are looking at preserving the pipes, coils and traps. I have heard of passivating pipes for chill water, but am not sure about the same procedure in steam systems. Does anyone have any experience. The length of time to store is undetermined, but most likely more than a year, so look at it from a longest-available storage process.
: : Thanks in advanced.

: is your piping system is direct buried in the ground? if so ensure system is fully drained.

:No, it is not under ground. It is your typical distribution within a plant. I've read a bit about neutralizing and filming amines, but seems to be for condensate lines only.

Is there anything that I can put in the feedwater that will vaporize and adhere to pipe walls to prevent corrosion?
