: We are experiencing similar problems. The steam headers will flood occasionally. By testing the water on the steam side we found the water soft but the pH, p alkalinity, and total dissolved solids abnormally high. At the same time the boiler TDS and OH alkalintiy goes abnormally low even with the CBD fully shut off. The water on the steam side then is boiler water.
: The boilers (146 hp) which have a small steam space carry over boiler water when they go in to high fire. If the traps or strainers before the traps plug then the headers flood and then the boilers prime going down on low water.
: We added one more trap to the main steam header and discharge the condensate from them to the blowdown tank, frequently check our strainers and traps are absolutely clean at all times, added cbd controllers to the boilers and try not to fire each boiler more than 50%.
: Of course we have made water treatment on the boilers and the return condensate our number one o&m priority.

rick if the Boilers & feed water pumps OFF and you are fulling up in the Boilers & Header too
Check the city water VALVE going into the each
Boiler? let me know
