: Please, I'd like to formulate a catalized sodium sulfite, used as oxygen scavenger for low pressure boilers (10 bar). Does anyone know the proportion (in mass) of cobalt sulfate and sodium sulfite that might be mixed? Does it have to be crushed in a mill ? Is there another catalyst (FDA approved) for this purpose? Thanks in advance

Tony's right, you can't get any cheaper than powder sulfite. I've never made formulas, but if you are really interested go to www.awt.org. Look at their library site. They have a book of formulas for sale which may include what you are looking for. If not possibly someone there can answer your question.
