: : You guys are killing me! When a tube ruptures, it makes a big mess in the Boiler Room...Firetube Boilers have leveled entire buildings. Never heard of a DA Tank leveling a building. I have enjoyed following this discussion...it is interesting. Whoever gets the last word in wins!! Ha ha ha....:)

It is a good discussion Amy, and not to get too far off topic I think we all understand that potential for destruction is there for all of the equipment we discuss here. If I remember correctly, the National Board's last ten year report showed some 10,0000 of 25,000 reported accidents were related to steam heating boilers while about 2,500 were related to pressure vessels BUT pressure vessel accidents were the leading cause of deaths and injuries over that same period, so don't underestimate your harmless looking DA, air reciever, etc. just because it doesn't have a burner.

Anyone know what the number one cause (by a huge margin) of all those accidents was ???

Have a safe day !
