: Here's how we do it, and some of the advantages too. I am Chief in this plant but I brought this sched to my guys and they jumped at it.
: * Five crews
: * Only FULL weekends worked, no partials
: * Work 2 full weekends in a row, get 3 full weekends off in a row
: * 35 day schedule rotation
: * 36 hour week
: * One stretch of 8 days off in the rotation
: * No splits in the set, ie: when you're on a set of nights, you only work nights, same with dayshifts
: * One day in the rotation has two crews on shift; this is "training day" where all plant training is scheduled (SCBA, TDG, WHMIS, lockout, fall arrest, etc). On the template below, D is days, N is nights, T is training day and X is days off.
: * My Engineers adore this schedule...they say it seems like they're never at work!
: * Notice that you can take off ONE set of 3 nights as vacation and be off 15 days.
