: : I am looking for information or studies on the effects of too much steam heat on the occupants of an appartment. Can anyone point me in the right direction?......Thanks

: If the steam stays in the heater, how can there be any effects? If some steam is escaping, then the amines carry over from the boiler water, with the steam, and have an odor. The odor is irritating, and the treatment levels and choices of chemicals may depend upon the amount of steam you have leaking into occupied areas. Whoever is providing you chemicals for treating you boiler water should be able to assist you. If not, call up some water treatment companies, saying you are a prospective customer, and ask for info. Betz is a good company, and I get answers by calling their main office and talking to the right expert.
