: When trying to maintain cycles of concentration in steam boiler, should boiler water conductivity be compared to actual, treated feedwater that is mixed with condensate return, or to raw feedwater going into makeup tank?

Cycles of concentration should be determined by doing chloride analysis of the feed water mixed with condensate, and the boiler water. Checking cycles by conductivity is not as accurate, due to addition of conductivity from chemicals. The percent of condensate return can be determined by doing chloride analysis of raw incoming water and comparing with chloride analysis of the mixed feed water.
