: Does anyone have any experience with these boilers in the 250 to 1440 hp range, especially efficiency, longevity, maintenance and repair, particular water treatment requirements, etc?
These boilers are very efficient. As far as longevity, it all depends on how well you take care of them. I know of a case where a plant purchased a brand new 50 hp Miura, but did not monitor the soft water very well. In six months they hired me to descale the boiler. Another plant had a 300 hp Miura, and decided to not pay for salt for softener regeneration. They had to
buy another tube bundle, used, which the boiler company hired me to descale. Water treatment on these units is very critical. They absolutely have to have zero soft water at all times with no deviation, with a proper amount of boiler chemical. If not, they will scale rapidly.
