Fair enough, but all codes are inferred from ASME, ASW, ANSI in the NYS boiler code( most jurisdictions do this ) as to welding spec's, and the ASME applies ASW rules.
I'll now have to find the appropriate sections and cross reference them to the appropriate authority.

You do know that ASME specifications are followed by Canada and it's provinces and territories, right?? Academic you say!!
