: Our two lp boilers at night will sometimes fill to the top in the site glass as well as the condensate tank to which it gets its water from. Two boiler feed solenoids, check valves in feed pumps. Q? Can the boilers cool at nite, creating a vacumm and drawing water out of tank??...mikey

Since water expands 1600 times when it is convrted into steam, the reverse is also true. As a hot boiler cools the steam condenses back into water and therfore occupies 1/1600 the space and can cause a vaccum to occur. When a boiler is shut down and as it cools, the vent would normally be opened to prevent a vaccum from occuring. DTM
