: Our economizer is plug with a build up due to the fact that there was to much water in the steam for blowing soot, what is the esiest way to remove this build up, a chemical maybe? or good old fashioned hammering and chiselling?

Any cleaning is going to made a big mess , get some heavy plasic to keep it from getting in the boiler . try to steam clean it with a steam lance if that does get it you should get hold of the manufactor of it and see what they say . Not noing the type of piping it is made of , you need to be carefull of the chemical use.
