New York State changed the boiler code back in 1986 that required boiler operators. Only if the boiler is a manual fired boiler and does not have a Low Water Control is an operator required to be in the boiler room 24/7. Only in NYC if the boiler is High Pressure is an operator required. However check with the insurance company that insures the boilers. They may have their own requirements.
