For the NYC Exam its 100 questions multiple choice. They ask everything from boilers to turbines to steam engines. Read Steam Plant Operation, The Boiler Operators Guide, Low Pressure Boilers, High Pressure Boilers. Also get a copy of the State Of New York Boiler Code Industrial Code Rule # 4 & # 14. The last 25 questions come from that code book. After you take the written and if you pass you will then take a practical exam in a boiler room in NYC. The examiners will piont out equipment to you and you will have to let them know what it is and how it works. Good Luck it is a hard test and you should start studying at least 6 months before you take the test.

: HAS ANYBODY TAKEN THE EXAM? AND IF SO WHAT TYPE QUESTION ARE ASKED? STEVE
