: im having high silica content in my raw water (20 ppm)& in boiler water reading is about 300ppm.Is there any way i can reduce silica content in boiler water to prevent silica scales?what is the permittable amount of silica content in boiler water?

The only way to reduce silica content is to blow it down and replace it with good.
The answer to your next question. In a power plant,we try to keep silica levels below 100 ppb but alot has to do with pressure.
