: I'm looking for info on riveted construction of firetube boilers in general, locomotive firetube boilers specificaly. Text books, hand books, or ASME Sec III, Boilers for Locomotives, prior to 1952. Books discussing calculations/design, hand books/catalogs on pneumatic hand riveting guns, equip., and rivet company catalogs. I perform hot riveting and wish to learn more. Please reply via e-mail. Thanks.

Robert, You may have luck finding books of this sort in "old book" section of a reseller. I found several old Steam Fitters books in them. Also, check with a larger
library, you may find an old ASME Code, prior to 1979, which they may let loose of. Most old stam hands like to keep them so it might not be easy. I'll take a look
and e-mail you later the titles I have at home. No, won't let loose of them but will give you a source name to chase. Also, you might check the "steam locomotive groups"
that many states have.
