I just had a new steam furnace put in and it is going on and off every couple of minutes because the water disappears in the fill then it drains back in and it goes back on again till it reaches the proper temperature in the house. The people told me it was due to old pipes. I get heat through the whole house but I have also have to go and drain off about 25 to 50 gallons of water off the furnace everyday or some times every 12 hours if it is colder out. If I don't drain it in time it all comes out the radiator vents. It is a peerless ect-04-150-5pt with a automatic water feed. The water in the furnace is clear so I don't really think it is the pipes and I didn't have this problem with the old furnace. These people want to put all new pipes in and I think they didn't put the return in properly and that is why it is overfilling. Can someone help!
