Harold,
Thanks for the advice. I returned to the store I bought the valve from and they stated I did buy the right valve. It is an adjustable steam valve. I tried putting a small block of wood on the valve side of the cast iron radiator and it works better but I still have to take off the valve and dump water out of it. Also I keep it very loosely screwed and the valve wide open. Could there be a problem because the first floor heaters are the fin type with the valve about 6 inches above them and the upstairs is cast iron? Should I replace the cast irons to match the others. The upstairs cast iron seem to get hotter first. Thanks for your help.
