You would probably be the first to extend a Hartford loop around an entire basement as it is the near-boiler piping arrangement to keep water in the boiler, so it is installed at the boiler and no further. However, taking a hot water loop off the boiler is an old tried-and-true basement heating method usually used over the past century to keep everyone warm in the Sunday school class. A relay such as an R8445U is used so a thermostat, the burner circuit and circulator is attached. When the thermostat calls for heat the circulator and burner starts.
