: : in water tube bent tube boilers tubes take from 2 to 4 bends. hence it become impossible to check the entire tube lenth for scle because of bends. then what methods can be used for this purpose? moreover , will it be save to make the ACID CLEANING of a bent tube w/t boiler each year?

: Zaib,

: If deposits in the water tubes of your boiler is becoming a regular thing. There is surely something wrong with the quality of your boiler feed water and the management of the boiler water quality. If water quality is managed up to its standards there is no necessity for acid treating of tubes. So first thing to do look for a good chemical treatment and service program. Make sure the water qualities are whiting the following limits :

:
: norm unit Standards for
: 1000 psi 225psi
: PA mg/l 20-70 66-130
: MA mg/l 30-100 100-200
: CL mg/l <30 <30
: SiO ppm <6 <30
: SO3 mg/l 10-40
: SO4 mg/l 10-15 30-60
: PO4 mg/l 10-15 30-60
: Conductivity mS 400 400-450
: PH - 9.2-10.2 9.8-10.6

I agree with Raymond, the key to stopping scale formation is to chemically treat your boiler.....I do alot of chemical treatment on these systems and it solves the problems.also proper blow down of the system on a regulr basis is very important....if you have any more questions please feel free to e-mail me
