If you have a hot water system with cast iron radiators, there should be little air vents at the top of one end of the radiator. There is a square pin like on a clock or skateboard. You buy a key for them at a local hardware or look in the back of the top right hand drawer in your kitchen. Minerals are introduced with the fresh water you are going to drink, so you can't add chemicals. The boiler keeps the same water (watch for leaks) so it doesn't have the problem.
