Can chlorine in my boiler cause corrosion?

I have experienced tube failure in my low pressure water tube boilers(Bryan). The boilers were installed less than a year ago and heat pool & spa water. We have a water treatment program, but the water guy has detected a high level of chlorine in the feedwater. Could our leaking heat exchangers have contributed to a corrosion problem?
