: : am looking for information on deaeration. We are trying to use particle counters to monitor the purity of boiler water but are having problems with entrained air, which is giving us false readings. I am looking for information on how deaeration is performed or a good source for this type of equipment. We are using the counter on a small pilot system so the deaeration equipment should be on a smaller scale.
: : I appreciate your help.

: In most cases, excessive dissolved oxygen content of the feedwater will cause your problem. Their are many companies that offer dearation equipment and set ups. I recommend cleaver brooks as they offer a variety of configurations. If you already have a dearater and it doesn't seem to be operating efficiently, the cause is more than likely mechanical/operational. Their are also oxygen scavenging products that can be introduced into the dearater storage compartment (i.e. hydrazine, etc. that can help lower the dissolved oxygen content).
