I have had no problems with my boiler for over 30 years (knock on wood).
A month ago I replaced the drain valve with a new ballcock. When I turned the thermostat up today all the burners lit but there was no whooshing (?) sound. I have heat in 1 radiator and that is all. Could my problem be as simple as when I turned the gas back on I did not open it enough? The shut-off is a nut on the line and I'm afraid that if I open it too much it will turn all the way out. Is this possible or is there some type of stop on the nut to prevent it.
Or ... is my problem not that simple and I should be looking at something else. I have a good spare thermostat and tried that it made no difference. You can see how ignorant of boilers I am. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Mac
