To comply with many codes, the water should not be hotter than 120F. If you keep your water heater that low, you will have to consider legionnaire's disease, as that is within the temperature it grows and thrives. I suggest you get a mixing valve on the water heater, keep the water heater at 150F and just have the water hot enough to do what you need done with it at the mixing valve(s).
