Split the downstairs zone in half and pump both loops with the one circulator that is in the zone now. Run a 3/4 tube from the center of the loop to the supply manifold and move the supply of that loop to the return with the existing return. Although the circulators would do better on the supply, most installers still put the circulator(s) on the return. The circulator can move enough water to heat 50,000 btuh, but not at that distance.

You can do it any time by setting the new piping without stopping the system, then cutting them in when convenient. you would need to check that the drop is 20F or less when you are done refilling.
