I am putting an addition on my home in Connecticut and have been advised that a boiler with hydronic air handlers is the best way to go. They are saying that an endless/tankless hot water heater will fulfill my needs. I am concerned that it will not. I currently have a 120 gal. electric hot water heater and do run out of hot water at least once a week (teenagers take very long showers). Can I supply the electric hot water heater with hot water from the boiler rather than cold water from the street? It makes sense to me that this concept will work. If I do that, wouldn't that afford me the best of all worlds - an oil boiler will heat the water and the electric tank will just have to keep it hot. Please advise as to the pros and cons.

Thank you in advance for your input,

George
