thanks for the insight and the prompt reply. When we moved in here two years ago we had the opportunity to use either propane or oil, and our plumber (and good friend) -- who specializes in oil-fired hydronic installations -- insisted we use oil. He gave me a conversion chart (gallons of oil/propane to heat), which made a lot of sense at the time.
I'm glad to hear that he has steered me the right way.
How massive of a project is rebuilding a combustion chamber?
