I'm looking to purchase a house with steam radiant heat. The boiler in the basement is a Peerelss. It appears to have a lot of rust in the corner as well as rust on the pipe sending the steam to the rest of the house. I know a plumer is the best place to go, but I was looking for some preliminary info and suggestions (possible age, lifespan, replacement cost). The model number is 6-460-W-S. The Peerless web site basicly sucks. It gives me NO way of tracking the model, or any way to even contact Peerless. Any info that can be provided would be appreciated.
