Specification: Copper Finned Tube Commercial Hot Water Boiler

  1. Provide a copper finned tube hydronic boiler(s), having an output of ________BTU/hr when fired with natural gas. The boiler(s) shall be designed to operate at a minimum part-load thermal efficiency of 83%.

  2. The heat exchanger shall be constructed of 99% pure copper finned tubes. The headers shall be bronze (stainless steel on domestic hot water applications) with isolated floating tube design, with flanged connections. The complete assembly shall be an ASME approved pressure vessel, having 160 PSI operating pressure, with high thermal shock resistance. Stainless steel flame diverter baffles shall be secured to the finned tubes providing turbulence for maximum flue gas efficiency. Provide a pressure relief valve, and drain connections on the inlet and outlet for pressure drop tests and chemical cleaning.

  3. The combusion chamber shall be refractory brick lined with glass wool insulation provided between the combustion chamber and outer casing.

  4. The burner shall operate on either an on/off or staged combustion system. The boiler may be used on a combustible floor.

  5. The burner shall be provided with intermittent spark ignition and electronic flame safeguard control.

  6. The boiler will be furnished with the following trim and accessories:
    1. 24 V constrol system c/w 110V transformation
    2. Gas train with safety shut off control valve, manual shut off valves and gas pressure regulators. (IRI / F.M. / CSD-1 optional)
    3. Modulating temperatures control
    4. Adjustable high limit control
    5. Flow switch, mounted and wired
    6. ASME safety relief valve, set at _______psig
    7. Low water cut off, shipped loose (optional)
    8. Annunciating light panel for:
      • Boiler on
      • Flame failure
      • High water temperature with reset
      • Low flow

  7. The boiler/burner unit shall be furnished in accordance with all federal, state, and local requirements.

  8. Upon notification of completion of the installation, the boiler manufacturer or his authorized representative shall furnish the services of a field technician, to start the boiler and provide combustion tests over the operating range.
